When the ferry is approaching the Isle of Skye, you can see how beautiful the island is. Along the road from the ferry terminal to Broadford, views of the island will tempt you to stop the car and take some photos. The Cuillin Hills are a good destination for walkers and rock-climbers, but there are easy courses too for unforgettable walks. The place is perfect to relax; looking at landscapes with envy that residents can enjoy every day. The smell of the peat remains with us and we remember it when, at home, we enjoy a glass of Talisker. Driving north, along the main road, you'll meet Highland cows and wonderful landscapes: you'll stop spellbound to look them. Go to see the coastal scenery of the Trotternish peninsula, where there are sheer drops from the cliffs to the sea. Typical in the peninsula are The Old Man of Storr and the Kilt Rock: the first is rock of about 50 metres and the second is a sheer drop from the cliff to the sea of about 91 metres. On the island there is the Skye Museum of Island Life and Dunvegan Castle, the seat of MacLeod's clan. In the castle you can see the Fairy Flag and take a little boat to go and look at a seal rookery. |
