10th leg: Inverness - Edinburgh

From Inverness drive along the A9 to Perth. You can stop at Kingussie and see the Ruthven Barracks built in 1719 as a consequence of the Jacobite rebellion (1715). They were destroyed by Jacobites after the defeat of Culloden (1746).

Along the road you can stop at Blair Atholl, dominated by the Blair Castle, the residence of the Dukes of Atholl. The oldest part of the castle was built in 1269, but was renovated totally at the end of XVIII Century.

Don't forget to visit beautiful Pitlochry, a fascinating tourist resort of the Highlands. It is a good destination for walking, rides, rafting, trekking and relaxation.
