4th Leg: Fort William

From Oban to Fort William you must follow the coastal road, it's direct to the north (A828), and then you must follow the A82.

The centre of Fort William is fairly big with shops for everyones tastes. Allow yourself a trip to the Ben Nevis Pub to taste Sticky Toffee Sponge Pudding: you will like it!

This area is great for walking, in particular the Glen Nevis walk, at the foot of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Great Britain. If you don't like to climb, along the Caledonian Canal you can admire Neptune's Staircase, with a series of eight locks, over half a kilometre, allowing boats to get over a drop of twenty metres.

If the weather isn't good, in Fort William there's the West Highland Museum.
